Network Attached Storage

External storage is nice but there are far more options for you if you need to work with networked systems.  NAS is the answer to many of the issues I faced when it came to external storage options.

Western Digital has a My Book World Edition II that will allow you to store files from your networked PCs and laptops all around your house, into one location.  The terabyte of storage is split into two 500GB hard drives and it uses WD Anywhere Access which many say is "trouble-free" software, and superior to other packages.

The nice thing about NAS is that you don't have to have the one computer that has your storage device connected, powered up.  NAS allows you to be free from that and simply connects to your router so that you can use your laptop and wireless card to access your files from anywhere!

Motorola RAZR 2 V9 and Motorola Q9 to hit the market this month

motiaa

I have some good news to share with all those gadget freaks who are quite eager to buy Motorola RAZR 2 V9 and Motorola Q9 mobile phone. According to report, company can roll them out in AT&T on August 24. In my opinion, these latest offerings from Motorola are going to rule the market. Not only these phones are absolutely brilliant in terms of design but also features. Though, no detail on price as yet but expect them to be a bit expensive in nature.

There are also reports in the media that Pantech C810 will debut on September 9. On the other hand, Blackberry 8820 can hit the market on August 13 or 14. The AT&T-branded SMT5700 QWERTY smartphone, which was expected to hit the market in 2006, will at last see the light of day on either August 24 or August 28.

Logitech VX Nano Wireless Notebook Mouse Review

Logitech has a long history of making some of the best mice on the market for tasks like PC gaming, general computer work and mobile use. Last year I checked out the Logitech VX Revolution and found it to be the best portable mouse I had used. Now Logitech is back with a cousin to the VX Revolution called the Logitech VX Nano notebook mouse. Often portable mice simply lack the features that make some desktop mice so great, like extra buttons. Logitech is quite adept at cramming lots of features into a small space, and they have done just that with the Logitech VX Nano, so check out the full review for all the details.

Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard Updated, Smaller Less Macros

In addition to announcing the G9 laser mouse today, Logitech has also announced an update to the original Logitech G15. The new G15 has a built-in LCD display that is fixed in position rather than being flip up like the original G15. Logitech also says that they heard from many gamers that they didn?t use all the macros the original G15 was capable of and that the original G15 was too large.

In the new update Logitech reduced the number of macros to 18 achieved via six programmable keys with three shift modes each. Dropping the extra macro keys made the new G15 significantly smaller in size so it fits on more desks. The new G15 will be available in September for $99.

Logitech G9 Laser Gaming Mouse Becomes Official

We already posted some information on the Logitech G9 a few weeks ago that we found online. Today Logitech is officially announcing the G9 Laser Gaming Mouse. The big feature of the G9 is the interchangeable grips that allow you to tailor the mouse to your needs. The mouse ships with two grips and Logitech says that additional grips may be available as well as special edition grips for fans of specific games.

The G9 has some serious sensitivity with an available range of 200 to 3200 dpi. Another great feature is the addition of the free wheel scroll wheel to the mouse, but you can still choose click mode for gaming. The G9 also uses a weight tuning cartridge like the old G5 does. The mouse should be available in September for $99.

Hiper's PC PSU Supplies USB Ports

PC hardware manufacturers are always trying to add features to woo PC gamers and enthusiasts to their products over a competitor?s product. Hiper has a first with a PC power supply that features four USB ports and a portable device charger on the rear of the power supply called the Type R II. According to The Inquirer, the USB ports connect from the PSU to your mainboard for connectivity.

It would have been cooler if the USB ports just charged USB devices and didn?t bother with the actual USB connectivity. I say this because many new motherboards these days have PCI brackets that connect to internal USB headers or front panel USB ports from the PC case that connect internally too. Mainboards just don?t have enough USB headers typically for all these external ports wanting to connect. The PSU is a 770W unit with 980W of peak power and should be able to run higher end rigs with a single NVIDIA 8800 GTX onboard.

Paint the town RED with the new red K810i

redFor all the people who have craved for a RED Sony Cybershot phone, there is some good news. A sneak preview of the Sony Ericsson K810i with the new color was posted by carphonewarehouse recently.

The K810i is a photographer?s delight with a stupefying 3.2 MP camera that comes with auto focus and a Xenon flash. As the company claims, you can adjust light balance, brightness and contrast with the Photo fix feature. The auto focus and Xenon flash ensure that you will have no problems with lighting and focus. Additionally, the phone features Bluetooth connectivity. It also incorporates an FM radio and an mp3 player for the lonely moments. You can store up to 1 GB of data in the phone?s Memory Stick Micro.

Apparently, the red version of this phone would be available in September in UK alone. There is no information to suggest that it would be available in other regions. So, if you are not in UK, it would take a while for you to paint the town RED with your new K810i.
