Now this is an interesting twist on the standard USB Mug Cooler/Warmer fare that we have seen before. Thanko brings us the USB Bottle Cooler and Warmer device that relies on a USB connection in order to keep its contents warm or cool, depending on your preference. Incorporated within its body is the Peltier device that allows the cooling and heating system to work by simply switching electrodes, enabling it to come in such a compact package. Now I think this is certainly a great device to have on your desk, as it helps keep your cool drink, well, cool despite being interrupted to attend an impromptu boardroom meeting right after lunch just as you're about to sip on your refreshing bottle of orange juice.
The line between the cooler and warmer is a thin one, as all you need to do is turn the switch according to the desired end result. The USB Bottle Cooler and Warmer is capable of keeping its contents cool/warm for up to 4 hours. Should the packaging of your original drink be too large to store within, you can always use pour the contents into the included mug. This nifty desktop device retails for $41.50 a pop.

If there's something that the pricey UMPCs is missing, it's an optical drive. You can of course rip the CDs and mount them as virtual partitions, or you can shell out for a slim external DVD writer. Besides these options, Plxtech offers another alternative. Its nifty USB Duet EZ-Dock technology allows UMPCs to take control of the USB peripherals on the host PC through you-know-what cable. Additionally, you can send the mirrored desktop screen on the desktop's big LCD monitor as an external display. This docking feature also allows you to share the desktop's keyboard and mouse to control the UMPC. Through the same USB connection, you can establish Internet sharing as well as data synchronization. Don't get too excited as we haven't seen any UMPC manufacturers adopting this technology just yet. Perhaps next time you spot a female-B port on a UMPC, Plxtech Duet EZ-Dock might be already enabled on the unit. Video demo after the jump. Permanent Link

Some road warriors are torn between getting a notebook's friendly ExpressCard HSDPA adapter and a universally compatible USB equivalent. The USB offers compatibility for both desktops & laptops while the ExpressCard can fit snugly inside the slot on a notebook without inherent risk of bending or breaking like a USB dongle. To kill two birds with one stone, here's a USB 2.0 to USB 2.0 Mode ExpressCard Adapter even though their marketeer needs a lesson on naming their products. The MicroU2E from Syncrotech allows use of USB-based ExpressCards with USB ports, which unleash the hidden interface in many these cards. They are mostly memory adapters, 3G modems, WiMax, serial converters and SSDs. SIIG has a similar product but we prefer the $38 Synchrotech for its nifty packaging. Permanent Link

Well geeks, after hunting your dual SIM phone now here is your new dual phone, yes I mean to say two phones in one phone with a mere 30mm thick body - the iCool G700.

This clamshell combination of two mobiles in the same body comes equipped with dual SIM slots and shares the same 1400 mAh battery. In addition, this chocolate bar features 2.0-megapixel camera, 2-inch display screen inside and accepts 3G GSM SIM card. The best part is that both the cards can be switched on simultaneously but functions via their own boards.

The phone also comes with its own display screen, Vertu-like keypad and touts support for three Telco logos plus T-mobile to make certain that the phone is supported by international brands.

However, price and availability is not yet announced.

Saitek showed off a new flight simulation product during E3 at an event outside of the actual E3 show. The product consists of three LCD screens that can show realistic flight information from games like Flight Simulator X with the included software. The screens can be configured to show different instruments. In the image here we see the screens configured to show the artificial horizon, heading, and what looks to be an air speed indicator. Saitek says they are bringing the LCDs to market this fall at a price of only $99. I would assume that means the setup you see in the photo would run $300. Flight simulation fans are probably drooling right now. This things will go very well with the other gear Saitek already has for flight simulation like their X52 Pro flight stick and the Pro Flight Rudder Pedals. Permanent Link

Digital photo frames are definitely making their mark in the living room of homes across the world as more and more people jump onto the digital camera bandwagon. After all, having your favorite holiday moments stuck in an external hard drive or tons of flash memory isn't going to make an impact compared to a physical photo album as well as memories shown in photo frames. iRiver has taken a break from developing portable media players to bring us the Siren DF150 digital photo frame.
The Siren DF150 looks like a classic photo frame at first glance, thanks to the mahogany frame. A closer peek reveals a 5.6" QVGA LCD display set within a metal sub frame along with memory card slots that read SD, MMC, CF, and Memory Stick formats. Just in case you have extra photos on a USB flash drive, the USB 2.0 port comes in handy. Unlike other digital photo frames, the Siren DF150 features 512MB of integrated flash memory, letting you use it straight from the box without purchasing additional memory. Features include a clock and calendar function, slide shows, image trimming, enlargement, and brightness adjustment among others. It will be released in Japan on August 3rd for roughly $125.

As everyone knows by now, smiling uses less muscles than a frown, and not only that, if you force yourself to smile despite feeling rather low, chances are pretty high that your countenance will lift thanks to counter programming of your emotions by your award winning smile. What if you still feel as though your lips are full of lead and just cannot bring yourself to flash those pearly whites? The answer lies in this Beauty Smile Trainer that is a no-brainer when you think about it.
It comes in a shape that is not too different from a banana, albeit in a much slimmer and smaller version to fit your mouth. A standard smile which you conjure is magically transformed into one that you often see in celebrity magazines. Not only do you end up with a much more amicable smile than the one you already parade, the Beauty Smile Trainer claims to reduce facial sagging, which is always a good thing in my books. Do you think this is a much better alternative than Botox and going under the knife?

Yesterday Logitech launched their new Cordless Desktop Wave. I had the chance to get my hands on the kit and test it out over at I4U News. Personally, I didn?t find the keyboard to be any more comfortable than a plain keyboard. Typing feel was good with quiet keys offering good tactile feedback. The Wave keyboard is intended for Vista and features numerous short cut keys for Vista gadgets and features. The keyboard can also be used with other Windows versions as well. The lacking point in the desktop set for me was the mouse, which had poorly placed side buttons prone to get clicked inadvertently. Wireless mouse range was good and accuracy was decent, but the mouse could use more sensitivity for my tastes. The Wave desktop offers a good alternative to ergonomic keyboards from Microsoft. I was looking through ETSY, and I saw a barrage of handmade gadget cases for just about everything, but this one caught my eye. Fancy Animals makes the cutest cases. The case opens on the top so you can plug it in to recharge it, and features several pockets to hold your games. The designer used remnants from fabric stores, so at least you won't have to feel too guilty dressing up your gizmo. You have several choices to choose from, all available for about $20. But the satisfaction of having an original case is priceless. |

Can you see the difference between the shirt the girl's wearing, and the one shown on the iPhone (show-offs)? The technology that makes that little lightning bolt appear in the digicam is called Kameraflage (camera+camouflage..clever!). With it, anyone is able to embed secret messages in clothing, ads, film, and whatever else they want (tattoos, anyone?). What's sweet about it, is the message can only be seen through your digital camera, since our eyes are not able to pick up these invisible colors. Kameraflage has been secretly working on some high-tech threads for camera obsessive types who tune in to Flickr or YouTube, and come September, they'll be available on their website. I'm not sure if you'll be able to customize your message, but that would certainly be awesome. If you're in San Diego on August 6, you better head over to SIGGRAPH to catch a glimpse of their new fashion collection. And make sure you send me some pics!

Is strapping your dog with a pair of speakers hooked to an iPod of bad taste or a genius idea? Two New York designers created this plaid doggy vest with plenty of pockets to hold an iPod and two speakers on each side. You can even control the iPod remotely from the leash! It's too cute, although I doubt the doggy would agree. |

I purchased a temperature monitor for my computer after doing a few case modifications on it. It was a small little unlit screen that I could never make out the numbers to find out the temperature of my processor. Useless.
But this, this seems to be the way to go. AeroCool's PowerWatch has a neat display, easy to read front-panel readouts, brightly lit indicators (which only add to the allure of a case mod. in my opinion) with not only temperatures but fan speeds, too. Utilizing both Celsius and Fahrenheit, you can be in the know about your PC. Also has an alarm temperature warning in case you aren't watching its every move.
In addition to those bonus features it already impresses me with, the PowerWatch has two USB ports and four card-reader slots to make things more convenient. Using four different areas of your PC you can monitor all sorts of things while loading up things from your memory cards.
For around $75 you can add this to your list of gadgets you must have if you're into building your own systems. Comes in two color choices to make your design sleek.

Normally manufacturer designs notebooks with some unique class stuff to give smooth and silky looks to their products but now to offer some conventional looks the S-series notebook concept is designed via wood.
This new concept that appears interesting to me, sports ultra-thin 4mm thick LCD screens, at 17″ wide, and runs Windows Vista whereas the back of the screen comes dished in black acrylic with a wood base and targets business users.

Designed by Simon Enever this funky laptop designing with glossy looks will really make my office look cool and arresting, because I think that I am big wood-hugger.

Razer has introduced a new 3G version of the ever popular Razer Diamondback gaming mouse. The new version uses the same 3G infrared sensor that Razer used in the Deathadder. In addition to the new sensor the Diamondback has a new rubberized non-slip finish and is available with red, green or blue lighting. The 3G sensor has a 1800 dpi resolution and on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment. The sensor uses the familiar always on mode so the mouse is always ready to go when you are. The sensor can read 6400 frames per second, up to 60 inches per second and 15g of acceleration. The price of the Razer Diamondback 3G is $59.99 and will be available August 1. Personally, I still prefer higher sensitivity mice myself, I feel slow if my mouse isn?t at least 2000 dpi. Permanent Link
