We earlier told you about a British mountain climber named Rod Bader who was to make an attempt to climb the Everest and then make a mobile call from the summit. Well, he has done that successfully with a Motorizr Z8. On Monday, May 21, Baber made a call using his Motorizr Z8 from 29,035 feet, the highest point on Mount Everest. Interestingly, he even sent a text message to Motorola that read “One small text for man, one giant leap for mobilekind - thanks Motorola.” The call was made possible by the Chinese mobile base station, which stands with a line of sight to the north ridge. Great job Bader!

Developing something novel and different is not an easy task for everybody. Some designs seem to be way to ahead of their times. Now here is something extraordinary yet stylish that would lighten your senses and teleport you to a whole new age of “technological breakthroughs.”
ytjtrjtrjtr_1449

A first look at this thing reminds you of something not more than a piece of jewelry but on a closer scrutiny, you find something remarkable hidden under that stylish bracelet console – it is a cell with a difference. Tao Ma, the key designer to develop this state of the art mobile phone, has unleashed something a way too advanced and unusual. The bracelet-phone vibrates as it receives a message and awares you of an incoming call too.
trutrutruj_1449

The diamond like keystroke may be very well considered as the “master key stroke” when we have to make a call or receive it. It also incorporates a built-in mp3 player for those music lovers. This is something that would definitely magnetize the party freaks toward itself. It would be appropriate to call it a cell phone straight from the future.

There are many cell phones in the market today that alert you of an incoming call by using MP3 ringtones or vibration while in Silent Mode, but what do you think of this new concept handset from Nokia, which indeed rocks with customizable scent specs that allows you to smell who is calling at the other end.

Its unique paper airplane style folded design makes it a unique addition to the cellphone design arena. Scentsory would consist of wellness aromatherapy, plus user customizable scent specs for contacts. This is not the single avant-garde idea that ships with the Scentsory cellphone, as it comes with an origami-like design that seems to have been created out of transparent material.

I myself feel the need of smelling my contacts as soon as they call, as I don?t see anything more effective than an irksome ring tone to alarm me.

A number of solar chargers have been around for a while now but we are still looking for the best of the best. Now, Motorola has got the patent for a new way to charge a cellphone using sunlight only. The patent is for placing a solar-cell underneath an LCD on a mobile device. The LCD comes with built-in solar cells that are capable of charging the battery in a cellular phone or other portable device.

The solar panels have swapped the purpose of the space earlier occupied by caller ID screen. Microsoft has revealed that this technology will work well with the black-only LCDs where 75% of incoming sunlight passes through the screen.

I really appreciate the guys at Motorola for the innovative idea but it might need to go through a series of tests before it gets entrenched in a cellphone for real.

enghadget-iphone_48

We know very well the weight of every word coming out of Apple?s abode and the every word coming out of the all-the-rage gadget blog ?Engadget.? Startlingly, an incorrect blog post by Engadget related to the delay of iPhone made Apple stock to fall 2.2 percent as investors hurried to sell their shares. The post on Engadget said that the iPhone, which was scheduled for a June launch, had been delayed until October.

Here is the UPDATE from the Engadget?s post:

A trustworthy source supplied us with an actual internal Apple email that went out to thousands of Apple employees earlier today (published after the break). The fact that this was an email sent within Apple’s internal email system to its employees is not in question. Let us reiterate: this was an ACTUAL email distributed within Apple’s internal email system to Apple employees.

As it turns out, the internal memo Apple employees received was actually retracted by Apple shortly after it was sent out. (Also published after the break.) We received confirmation from Apple PR that this initial email sent out to Apple employees was incorrect, and they let us know that the iPhone and Leopard are both still on track, and should meet their expected launch timeframes.

Presumably Apple is now on the hunt for whomever was able to spoof its internal email system.

Comments poured like anything on the post where a majority of readers expressed their anger on the blog. Anyhow, it?s still a mystery that how this story got started. But, Apple had to pay for the mistake heavily.

The multimedia phone boasts a QVGA 16 million color TFT display. The features are pretty imposing but the interesting thing to see will be the battery life of the device. The Motorola Z8 will make to the Asian and European shelves sometime in June for a yet undisclosed price. Other than that, the customers will get a free copy of pre-loaded “The Bourne Identity” movie on every purchase.
